Executive Director of Camp Mi-Te-Na
This will mark Matt’s 26th summer at Camp Mi-Te-Na. Matt began as a camper and has held various leadership roles at camp such as village head, waterfront director, and program director. During the off-season, Matt facilitates trainings for The Granite YMCA Association. He also volunteers his time to serve as a standards visitor for the American Camp Association. Matt is a certified trainer through the American Safety and Health Institute for various safety training’s such as first aid, CPR, oxygen administration, wilderness first aid, and other courses. In addition to ASHI, he is also a YMCA of the USA Faculty Trainer in lifeguarding. Matt holds a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management from Springfield College.
Eric Has been a proud member of the Mi-Te-Na family serving as the Assistant Director for the past 19 years. Before receiving his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Physics and his Master’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of New Hampshire, Eric served in the US Navy. During the off-season, Eric is a middle school math teacher where he has been a soccer coach, and he also helps with ski club and other school activities. Eric is active in his church, helping his community and spending several vacations building houses in areas affected by natural disasters such as floods and fires. Eric enjoys spending his spare time with his family and cheering on his favorite sports teams, including the New England Revolution and UNH teams.
Staff Development Manager
As a kid, Rick spent 7 great summers at Camp Mi-Te-Na as a camper. He went on to earn a BS in Psychology and Recreation from North Georgia Military College in the beautiful mountains of Dahlonega, Georgia. During the summers Rick returned to Camp Mi-Te-Na where he completed the Counselor In Training program and went on to hold several positions including Senior Counselor, Village Head, and Trips Director. He went on to spend four years in the military as a US Army Ranger. In 1986 Rick completed the military service and joined the YMCA team full time as Youth Director and Assistant Director of Camp Mi-Te-Na. In 1997 Rick became the Director of Camp Mi-Te-Na and served in that role 16 years before retiring and now returning to continue to assist at camp. Overall this is Ricks 51st year at Camp Mi-Te-Na.
Registered Nurse/Nursing Director
Marsha graduated from the University of Hartford with a BA Degree, and from Rivier College with her nursing degree. She has been spending summers at Camp Mi-Te-Na since 1996, when her son began attending camp with us, and in 2001 Marsha officially joined the Mi-Te-Na family as a staff member. During the off season, Marsha is a school nurse at Broad Street School in Nashua, NH and also works per diem at the Nashua Health Department. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, reading, cooking, and knitting.
This summer will mark Dylan’s 16th year at camp! During the winter Dylan works as the Aquatic Coordinator at the Seacoast YMCA. He is a certified Instructor in CPR, Emergency Oxygen, First Aid and Lifeguarding. His hobbies include playing the ukulele, chess and various other sports.
This is Jason’s 11th year at Camp Mi-Te-Na. In the off season, Jason works at the Hockomock YMCA in Franklin Massachusetts as a Site Coordinator. Jason is a seasoned Tough Mudder, running them with fellow camp staff and hometown coworkers. He is currently sitting with his fourth Mudder headband and is planning to complete his 5th and 6th later this year. Jason is passionate about community service and volunteers for local Elementary Schools at their Field Day, visiting grade concerts and even dressing up as the Cat in The Hat to read stories.
Tim was introduced to Camp Mi-Te-Na just 3 years ago by several staff friends. From the first day, he felt right at home and loved the atmosphere. He has had years of experience with being a camp counselor in his home town in Massachusetts. Tim has a sincere personality and always tries to bring out the best in people. While not at camp he works as a dog groomer where he can share his passion for animals.
Ashley Della Savina
Returning from England, this summer will be Ashley’s 4th year at Camp Mi-Te-Na. Back at home, he coaches at schools in many different sports such as soccer, basketball and dodgeball. Ashley is a massive fan of all sports so he spends a lot of time cheering on his favorite teams. While not engaged is a sport activity he enjoys spending time with his family.
Village Head/Hobbies Director
Jack hails from the green isle of Ireland, and this will be his 3nd summer working at Camp Mi-Te-Na. He graduated college with a Bachelors Degree in Product Design from the National University of Ireland Maynooth. In his spare time Jack can be found in the gym or playing rugby for his local club. He has been working at the gym and Teen Center at the YMCA of Downtown Manchester.
Pioneer Village Head
This is Danny’s 14th year at Camp Mi-Te-Na and his hobbies include cooking, hiking, playing basketball, collecting baseball cards, and watching the Patriots win. Danny has recently earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Foodservice Management from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI. He also has his Associates Degree in Culinary Arts. He hopes to continue his work in the restaurant industry in the fall.
Frontier Village Head
This will be Andy’s 5th summer on the shores of Halfmoon Lake. He is currently on an 18 month internship with The Granite YMCA, working in the Schools Out Program and in the Association Office. Andy was a Business and Management Major in Leeds UK, while playing for the University Football team before heading to the US. After camp Andy will be continuing his internship at the YMCA of Downtown Manchester, before heading back to the UK in December. Andy is a trainer in CPR, First Aid and Child Abuse Prevention.
Connor is joining us for his second season at Camp Mi-Te-Na. He is currently studying at Cardiff Metropolitan University with a focus on Sports and Exercise Science. He loves coaching and playing sports, especially soccer and golf. He passionately supports the Liverpool Football Club.
This year marks Ashley’s 17th summer at Foss and Mi-Te-Na. After being a camper and a CIT at Camp Foss, she joined the staff and held the roles of village head, waterfront director, and trips director. She began working at Camp Mi-Te-Na during their school group season leading team building and environmental camps. She has expanded her knowledge and skills by pursuing trainings and certifications in outdoor education. This past winter Ashley spent some time traveling to California and England.
Staff Development Professional
Jeff has been going to camp for 27 summers as both a camper and staff member. Throughout the years he has worked in all activity areas in camp and served as both the Village Head and the Counselor In Training (CIT) Director. Jeff has a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in secondary education from Arizona State University and a Master’s Degree from George Washington University in Educational Leadership. In addition he is currently completing his doctorate in Education at University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV). While not at Mi-Te-Na, Jeff teaches undergraduate classes at UNLV.
Lauren grew up in New Jersey and moved to Manchester, NH in 2009 where she now lives with her husband and cat, Kipton. She brings 10+ years of overnight camp experience with her as both a camper and a staff member! She has been working at The Granite YMCA since 2012, starting as a counselor at Camp Gundalow at the YMCA of the Seacoast. During the off-season, Lauren volunteers her time with an inner city teen group teaching leadership skills. In her spare time she enjoys reading, going to the beach, hiking local trails, and attending concerts. With her camping background, Lauren loves being involved with camp again and being able to use her knowledge to lend a helping hand at both Camp Foss and Camp Mi-Te-Na.
Executive Director of Camping Services
Tom grew up in Manchester NH where he regularly attended programming at the Manchester YMCA as well as Camp Mi-Te-Na for boys. During high school he worked at camp during the summer and the YMCA during the off season and was a member of the Leader Corps. Upon graduation in 1978 from Plymouth State University with a BS in Physical Education and Athletic Training, he was hired as the Assistant Camp Director at Camp Mi-Te-Na and Associate PE Director at the YMCA of Downtown Manchester. Tom has worked for the YMCA for over 50 years holding various positions from Assistant PE Director, Aquatics Director, Resident Camp Director, Director of the Camping Services Branch and is currently VP of the Camping Services Branch.
